Wandering on Rhodes Island.

With a long and impressive history, Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese islands. Wandering on Rhodes, we arrived at Mandraki Harbour where, along the eastern side, three renovated mills stand proudly against the deep blue sky, serving as majestic reminders of the island’s maritime past.  Built during the 14th century, these mills are all that remain of the original eighteen stone towers, once used to grind grain from passing ships. The sails are still now but once upon a time they turned with the steady Aegean breeze, powering trade. On the magical island of Rhodes, Medieval meets Greek traditional, and the past and present seamlessly intertwine.
