Wandering across from the Taj Mahal beneath a sky of birds

On the northern side of the Yamuna River, we wandered through the gardens to capture this image of the “other side” of the Taj Mahal. It was dusk and the sky was turning orange and red, casting a golden glow on the marble surface of the monument. The identical red sandstone buildings flanking the Taj Mahal on either side offered a striking contrast, with their warm earthy tones. The Taj Mahal looked beautiful in the early evening light. Flocks of birds soared above the landscape before us, adding movement and chaos to an otherwise peaceful scene.
